Typically lessons are once per week.
Most students do well with 30-minute lessons. One-hour lessons are available for more advanced students or to prepare for special events such as solo and ensemble, auditions, or juries.
$25 for a 30-minute lesson or $45 for a one-hour lesson.
A common misconception is that you need a full drum set or mallet instrument to get started, but you can actually get started with as little as a practice pad and sticks. The skills you learn on a practice pad—reading rhythms and stick technique—transfer to most percussion instruments. So you definitely need sticks and a practice pad. I ask every student to keep a notebook specifically for lessons. Typically we start with the Alfred's Drum Method Book 1. Additional books and music will vary with your interests.
The practice room is available to any of my students on a first come, first serve basis for $10 per hour. To reserve a time, email me at buck@mccloudstudios.com.
